What is the best way to reserve or get tickets?

We do not accept reservations. You must purchase tickets for our events and tours. Most tickets can only be purchased via our website or by phone through our outside ticket service. Some tickets are only available by calling or e-mailing the Food On Food Tour offices. Those tickets are clearly noted.
What type of tickets are offered?

Each event/tour has different types of tickets and pricing. Terms are specific and cannot be changed. Most events are time sensitive so we urge you to be early. For example , if you order non-refundable tickets and miss the tour or event for any reason, including being late you will not receive a refund. It is the responsibility of the guest to read all the terms and agree to them at the time of purchase. There are no switching priveleges. Like a sporting event you are purchasing tickets to a specific date/tour and/or event. Because we have limited spaces for our events/tours we strictly follow the guidelines outlined for each one. Tickets purchased through an affiliate or vendor partner may have different and/or additional options/restrictions.
Your calendar did not show that the event/tour I wanted was sold out but when I went to order tickets there were none left? So how do I find out how many tickets are left?

When a tour sells out we must manually change the calendar and this takes up to 24 hours. To find out in real time how many tickets remain for an event just click on the Ď Click Here To Purchase Ticketsí link. Then click on the event or tour you want and scroll on the quantity tab. The number of tickets still available will be listed. If that number is zero than the event or tour is sold out.
When I clicked on for an event/tour there were just a few tickets left but when I went back on a few minutes later there were no tickets left. Does not mean the event/tour is sold out?

Probably yes but not necessarily. When someone starts to book the last few tickets for an event/tour those tickets are locked out of the system to prevent overbooking. Sometimes people change their mind during the process and do not complete their booking. It takes up to 15 minutes for the system to re-release those tickets so it pays to check again in a few minutes.
Is there a waiting list for events/tours?

We do not have a waiting list. There is no guaranteed space unless you have purchased tickets. If a tour is sold out please check our website in case tickets open up.
If I purchase a ticket with a cancellation option how do I cancel?

The most effective and only official way to cancel is by e-mail so each party has a record. If you have access to both e-mail and phone please use both. All cancellations after 12 hours of purchase must be made directly at tours@foodonfoottours.com. Any cancellations attempted through the outside ticket service after the first twelve hours of purchase or after a tour has sold out (whichever comes first) are considered null and void.
Is there a grace period for cancellation?

Any tickets purchased on our website through our ticket service (Brown Paper Tickets) within 12 hours of purchase are cancellable as part of their customer policy (except for ON YOUR OWN FOOD TOURS). We honor that policy but all cancellations within 12 hours of purchase must go through them directly at 1-800-838-3006 or support@brownpapertickets.com. All cancellations after 12 hours of purchase or if a tour is sold out must go directly through Food On Foot Tours as noted in the section above. Please note: Any cancellations done through Brown Paper Tickets after the time noted (even if it is accepted by Brown Paper Tickets) are considered null and void by Food On Foot Tours and all applicable charges will be accessed to the purchaser. There is no cancellation at anytime for ON YOUR OWN FOOD TOURS as you are receiving the information immediately after purchase.
Do Food On Foot Tours events & tours run year around?

Events/tours run all year but may not available or run on very limited basis in January and February. Scheduled events may also be more limited during parts of March, November and December.
Do Food On Foot Tours events & tours run every day?

Escorted events/tours and sports tours do not run every day. On Your Own Food On Foot Tours are available for use on any day although some locations listed on your tour may be closed on major holidays.
Why is the calendar for the month I am looking at blank?

That means that events and tours for that month have not been posted. Scheduled Food On Foot tours are posted on or before the 16th of the previous month. Sports tours are posted at least 30 days in advance and Feasts & Finds events are posted as they are finalized.
Why do certain days on the calendar say "Please Click"?

By clicking on that link you will get the most updated information that we have for that date.
Do you cancel events or tours because of weather?

We rarely cancel events or tours. All events/tours are rain or shine (and may be altered at our sole discretion due to severe weather or travel conditions) so please bring weather gear as needed.
What is the best way to reach you?

For the fastest response the best way to reach us is by e-mail as we do not have operators available at all times. If you call us please be aware that we only return calls to U.S. and Canadian numbers. If you are calling from a hotel we need the following: hotel name and direct line phone number (not chain reservation number) and room number with reservation name. Most hotels will not put us through without at least the reservation name. If you need a return call please let us know how late we can call you NY time. If you leave your name and number please speak slowly and clearly and repeat your number twice, especially if English is not your first language. If you call us on a weekend or busy tour day you may not receive a return call until the next business day. If you are visiting from another country and you are using a temporary phone please be sure to activate your voice mail. Please do not call us from a noisy place as we will not be able to hear your information. Please note: We make every attempt possible to return calls but often cannot reach guests due to incomplete information (often because of poor phone service in Manhattan), wrong numbers or background noise. If you do not hear from us it is usually for one of those reasons. Please try again or e-mail us.
